The Historical Museum – Botevgrad is a cultural and scientific institution with well-established and developed activities, legitimized by the Republic of Bulgaria in the field of search, research, presentation, and preservation of the cultural and historical heritage in Botevgrad Municipality.
– Scientific research – involving the search, study, and interpretation of analytical material related to the cultural and historical heritage of Botevgrad Municipality;
– Collection – the museum’s collections comprise over 20,000 original units, including archaeological artifacts, objects, documents, photographs, old printed literature, weapons and equipment, numismatic and heraldic movable cultural values, and works of art from the Neolithic period to the present day;
– Educational and pedagogical activities;
– Promotional and cultural partnership activities.
In 2020, an outdoor art space was adapted at the Historical Museum of Botevgrad, located behind the museum building, named “Lectorium.” Its design concept has, for years, facilitated the exchange of various cultural and social messages and the implementation of events with an educational and charitable character.
