The large-scale event, which will bring together exceptional cars from different eras, is held within the framework of the Holiday&SPA Expo exhibition – from February 12 to 14
Every car connoisseur, upon hearing the words Mercedes Benz 500 SEL Guard B6, W126, knows that an exceptional meeting is coming. Because only 652 units of this modification of the model were produced. And one of them will be able to be seen from February 12 to 14 in Sofia at the Spring Retro Car Salon at Inter Expo Center, which is held within the framework of the tourist exhibition Holiday&SPA Expo.
The car is a guest of the Museum of Auto-Retro Cars in the town of Peshtera. The armored Mercedes Benz 500 SEL Guard B6, W126 was driven by Todor Zhivkov himself until November 10. The vehicle was sold by the NSO at an auction in 2019 with a mileage of 258,729 km. The car was ordered by the then UBO (Security and Safety Department) today NSO (National Security Service), which will also traditionally be a guest with two very interesting specimens at the Spring Retro Car Salon .

The car was produced on 28.06.1983 with Guard B6 armor and is from the first series 09.1979-09.1985 before the facelift 09.1985-04.1992. A record 818,063 units of the W126 series were sold, which exceeds the sum of the predecessor W116 -473,035 units and the successor W140 -406,710 units combined!!!
To these we add the rarer and only V8-powered C126 coupes with 74,060 units. The 500SEL model in its regular version is 31,520 units. But all the factory armored W126s were only 1,465! Of these, the “lion’s share” falls on the 500SEL model with 376 units before the facelift and another 276 units after the facelift.
The spectacular event 3rd Spring Retro Car Salon is organized by the Sofia Auto Retro Club (SARC), in partnership with Inter Expo Center. From February 12 to 14, it will be part of the Bulgarian tourism exhibition Holiday&SPA Expo 2026.
