There is a wonderful museum at the end of the village of Cherni Osam, where the road ends and the mountain begins. The Natural Science Museum in Cherni Osam was established 50 years ago based on an idea of the local teacher Ilia Iliev, who showed great respect for the natural wealth of the region.
Today, the museum still attracts the interest of over 40,000 visitors annually. It is more than just a museum—it is a place where nature, science, education, ecology, art, and modern technologies come together to bring visitors closer to the richness of Bulgarian nature. The Natural Science Museum – Cherni Osam is a year-round tourist destination, with a rich exhibition presenting the biological diversity of the Central Balkan Mountains, a varied cultural program, and numerous initiatives.
