HOLIDAY & SPA Expo was held for the 38th time

The largest tourism exhibition in Bulgaria „HOLIDAY & SPA Expo“ organized by Prim Expo and under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Bulgaria was held for the 38th time

118 exhibitors, representatives of the full range of tourism services, tour operators and accompanying activities, technology companies, destination management organizations, cultural institutes, municipalities took part. After the most difficult period in modern history in the Halls of Inter Expo Center Sofia on 24 and 25 February 2022, the tourism industry proved that it is gradually but confidently recovering.

In front of more than 5,000 participants, visitors and guests, tourism companies, hotels, cultural sites, national and regional representations, local and national authorities from Bulgaria, Greece, Great Britain, India, Spain, Iraq, Mongolia, Finland and others made their promises of travel and new exciting adventures.

HOLIDAY & SPA – New destinations and old friends

For the first time Mongolia – the country of ancient nomads and legends, represented by its embassy in Bulgaria, took part in a Tourism Exhibition in Bulgaria.

India’s tourism potential was also presented by the Embassy of India in Bulgaria.

One of the most visited destinations by Bulgarian tourists – Greece, this year was represented by regional Tourist Organizations and a collection of first-class hotels with irresistible offers.

For the first time this year one of the most established tour operators in Iraq – Nineveh Travel & Tourism was presented to Bulgarian tour market.

HOLIDAY & SPA – Rich Conference Program and active business contacts

The Accompanying Exhibition’s Programme aroused great interest among both participants and visitors.

The Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Bulgaria organized a Round Table on the challenges facing the Tourism sector and inter-institutional interaction.

In the framework of the Exhibition was held and the annual meeting-discussion of the National Tourism Board „Interaction of the State and business in one direction.  New models for sustainable tourism and competitiveness of Bulgaria’s tourist destination“.

The Association of Bulgarian Tour Operators and Travel Agents hosted the discussion „Financial Instruments for Business Recovery.

The Standing Committee on Local Self-Government, Economic Policy and Tourism of the National Committee for Regional Development and Tourism also held its open meeting.

One of the most interesting discussions was dedicated to the ability to „Sell an Experience“, in which Alfredo de Liguori, Head of the Regional Tourism Promotion Agency of Puglia, shared his expertise.

The future of the events industry and the problems facing the development of quality exhibitions, conferences, congresses, sporting and corporate events was the theme of the forum organised by Prim Expo and the Bulgarian Convention Bureau.

A special place in the Program of „HOLIDAY & SPA Expo“ was dedicated to the new technologies, which in recent years have taken a particularly active place in the Tourism industry. The organizers of the Forum were „Prim Expo“ and URBO.

Tourism Online or a Travel Agent was the topic of the „Clash“ with the popular TV Presenters Ivan and Andrey. It was attended by representatives of the Future for Tourism Association from TA and eSky.bg and Flataway.bg. for the TO

The lack of staff with special skills, good qualifications and motivation to work in the tourism market is a constant problem. This topic was also organized by „Future for Tourism“. BULGARIA WANTS YOU Project was also presented.

HOLIDAY & SPA – Every corner of Bulgaria welcomes you

Municipalities were among the most numerous and attractive participants in the 38th edition of the International Exhibition „HOLIDAY & SPA Expo“. Local administrations strongly support the Tourism business of the Regions and actively promote Cultural Events and Attractions.

Sofia Municipality is once again a partner of the most prestigious Tourist Forum in the country. City Tourism Office and Sofia Tourist Region presented with a unique collection of thematic maps with new tourist routes, „Wine Map of Sofia“, „Get to know the birds of Sofia“ and a map of „Art of Sofia“.

Tryavna and Dryanovo demonstrated a good example of inter-municipal cooperation with their joint participation in the Exhibition.

Veliko Tarnovo presented emblematic events from the rich cultural programme of the region: the Summer Opera Festival „Stage of the Ages“, the Crafts Festival – „Night of the Samovodska Charshia“ and various festivals and celebrations hosted by the Old Capital.

The Municipality of Kavarna presented the numerous hotels and guest houses in the region, the delicious Black Sea food and many offers for active recreation.

The Municipality of Samokov continues to establish its position as an attractive destination in four seasons

Shumen presence at the international exhibition in Sofia was dedicated to the 40th Anniversary of the Memorial Complex „Founders of Bulgarian State“.

Kazanlak Municipality for the first time introduced at the „Holiday and SPA Expo“ in partnership with the currently under construction 5-star Spa and Wellness complex „Kings Valley“ near the mineral baths in the village of Ovostnik.

The Municipality of Pavel Banya presented Rose and Mineral Water Feast of and the unique Kuker Games from the Region.

Stara Zagora welcomed the guests of the International Exhibition with a special programme of a Trombone Quartet from the State Opera – Stara Zagora

Bansko, Botevgrad, Ardino, Bratsigovo, Burgas, Devin, Chepelare, Chirpan, Elena, Etropole, Gabrovo, Haskovo, Hisarya, Karlovo, Kyustendil, Lovech, Mineralni bani, Petrich, Plovdiv, Primorsko, Ruse, Samokov, Sandanski, Sapareva banya, Sevlievo, Sliven, Smolyan, Strelcha, Svishtov, Varna, Varshets, Veliki Preslav, Vidin, Zlatitsa, Zlatograd also had their presentations in the halls of the International Tourism Exhibition.
