The secrets of the intriguing Kaloyanovska Tomb are about to be discovered from February 12 to 14 at the Holiday&SPA Expo 2026 exhibition. This will happen thanks to the team of the Sliven Municipality, which will participate in the leading tourist exhibition.
The reconstruction “Secrets of the Kaloyanovska Tomb” will be among the highlights of the participation of the Sliven Municipality on Holiday&SPA Expo 2026 at Inter Expo Center. The Kaloyanovska Tomb is the only monumental (stone) tomb along the middle course of the Tundzha River. A mural was also discovered in it – an exceptional rarity in Thracian painting.
The exhibition is a reconstruction of artifacts and skeletons of the buried nobleman and his horse and a holographic display case with 3D visualizations of the grave goods
More about the Kaloyanovska Tomb
The Thracian tomb in the village of Kaloyanovo was discovered and studied in 1963. Located under a mound with a height of 3 meters and a diameter of about 50 meters. The archaeological site has two antechambers and one burial chamber. The Kaloyanovo Tomb dates back to the second quarter of the 4th century BC.
